The Role

We are seeking a Release Captain / Delivery Visibility Lead to bring clarity, discipline, and predictability to a large, complex digital engineering portfolio. This role exists to make delivery visible—providing real-time insight into delivery health across dozens of concurrent initiatives so engineering leaders can act early, not react late.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands how software is built and delivered. You’ll work directly in delivery systems to track plan vs. actual, surface risks before they escalate, and improve reliability across the delivery pipeline. While downstream release execution exists, this role focuses first on upstream delivery readiness and flow.

What You’ll Do

• Establish clear, trusted delivery visibility across 30+ active initiatives spanning multiple engineering teams
• Track delivery health at feature and program levels (timelines, dependencies, quality, risk)
• Identify “amber” signals early and drive corrective actions before issues become release blockers
• Work directly in Jira and delivery analytics tools to create accurate, leader-ready views of progress
• Partner closely with engineering leads and large vendor delivery teams to improve forecasting and accountability
• Improve the portfolio’s say–do ratio by reinforcing delivery discipline and transparency
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Strong technical foundation with a clear understanding of engineering dependencies and delivery mechanics
• Hands-on experience with Jira and delivery metrics / visibility tooling (e.g., Flow; Jellyfish a plus)
• Experience managing delivery health across large, multi-team or partner-heavy environments
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-visibility situations with senior stakeholders
• Familiarity with large-scale digital platforms (mobile, web, commerce, loyalty) is a strong plus
• Ability to be on-site Monday–Thursday

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is $65/hr to $90/hr. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
