The Legal & Compliance team oversees BlackRock’s compliance with applicable laws and rules, and is responsible for, among other things, establishing legal and compliance policies and procedures that meet applicable regulatory requirements; overseeing all regulatory matters; coordinating all litigation and legal proceedings; and providing legal advice to internal business units.
POSITION
We are searching for an experienced paralegal that will assist the Firm’s Senior Litigation Counsel and Litigation Team with the management of litigation and regulatory matters across BlackRock. The ideal candidate must be highly organized and demonstrate experience at a large corporate law firm or financial institution. Candidates must be able multi-task and prioritize responsibilities with strong focus on attention to detail and be able to independently take initiative to identify and analyze problems, generate alternative solutions and make decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reviewing and responding to subpoenas and requests for information;
- Assisting in all aspects of the litigation discovery process, including coordinating searches for email and hard copy documents and communicating discovery requests with the appropriate business and technology resources;
- Working with counsel to monitor and track the progress of litigation and regulatory matters globally across the firm, including maintaining and updating internal reports reflecting litigation and regulatory matters; and
- Assisting counsel with internal reviews, investigations and reports, including organizing and drafting written summaries or power-point presentations regarding litigation and regulatory issues.
SKILLS:
- Qualified candidates must have 2+ years legal/paralegal experience at a top law firm
- Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills required
- Flexible, self-motivated team player with ability to work quickly and efficiently with minimal supervision and consistent willingness to support other team members in fulfilling the Department's priorities
- Demonstrated skills in execution and planning are essential
- Position requires excellent Microsoft Office skills (including Excel). Knowledge of e-discovery software a plus.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $76,000 – $90,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
