Duties: Work as the Sustainable Investing Research Associate within the Fundamental Equities Team. Perform sustainable investing market research, including research on potential investments across sectors and geographies, industries, and competitive landscape. Design and develop methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze various data, including financial, sustainability, environmental, social & governance (ESG), and alternative data sources to generate actionable insights for clients and internal consumers. Participate in reporting, querying, processing, and visualizing financial and sustainability-related data sets such as climate, impact, and ESG at scale. Interact with various stakeholders and partner with teams to design and deploy financial and sustainability research processes and analytical solutions. Perform research on new uses of existing financial and sustainability data and analytics and apply and deploy analytics using modern techniques in scripting, data management, and modelling. Play an integral role in a variety of initiatives related to sustainable investing, including ESG, climate, impact research analysis, and integration into the investment process. Support the Head of FE Sustainable Investing Research on analytics, cross-functional collaboration, research papers, internal training programs, framing sustainable investment reporting, and the creation of thought leadership. Leverage big data, MSCI ESG, MS Office Suite, Python, SQL, and Bloomberg for statistical and investment analysis.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field and 36 months of experience in the job offered or as an Associate, Applied Analytics, Analyst, Graduate Program, or in a related occupation. Experience must include 36 months involving the following: implementing sustainable investing research tools and data vendor tools, including ESG analysis and temperature alignment tools; analyzing and synthesizing data, including ESG, impact and climate data, and applying data in assessing investments at the portfolio level and individual issuer level; liaising with industry groups and data vendors to conduct analysis; presenting training sessions and researching topics for clients and stakeholders; collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive research forward; and leveraging big data, MSCI ESG, MS Office Suite, Python, and SQL for statistical and investment analysis.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $138,500 – $140,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
