About this role
We are looking for a dynamic, skilled professional to lead corporate and financial communications. In this role, the ideal candidate will have significant experience engaging with C-level executives, managing financial communications, and navigating high-stakes media relations and complex reputational issues.
Key Responsibilities
The Director, Corporate & Financial Communications will be based in New York and the primary senior communications professional responsible for:
- Managing multi-faceted corporate reputation issues for the largest asset management firm in the world.
- Driving the strategy and execution of media relations for our CEO and CFO, including financial communications (e.g., Chairman’s letter), quarterly earnings, corporate announcements and transactions as well as litigation and corporate responsibility issues.
- Developing strong relationships with journalists and other critical stakeholders.
Candidate Qualifications
- 15+ years of corporate communications experience in a public company, including experience working closely with CEOs, CFOs, General Counsels, and other C-suite business leaders.
- Significant experience working on complex reputational issues and high-profile media relations with top tier publications.
- Proven ability to manage a team and develop talent.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong project management skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to develop relationships and navigate a growing global organization.

An important part of BlackRock’s Corporate Affairs function, the global Corporate Communications team leads internal and external communications efforts that advance our purpose of helping more and more people experience financial well-being. The team develops compelling communications programs that enhance our culture, drive growth, strengthen our reputation, and build our brand.
For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $199,500 – $240,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
