Description:

The Modern Workplace Engineering team is responsible for delivering next-generation end-user computing platforms that encompass the design, engineering, and implementation of advanced endpoint management technologies and solutions across Windows, Mac, and Mobile platforms at BlackRock, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop seamless digital workplace solutions aligned with the firm's goals. The team is dedicated to innovating and excelling by automating tasks, developing software applications and tools, continuously improving the services and processes, and ensuring consistency across all devices, ultimately improving security, and enhancing employee productivity and efficiency.

The Mac and Mobility Engineering Group is looking for an endpoint engineer with a focus on supporting iOS / iPadOS and optionally macOS. The candidate will be responsible for all manner of engineering related to enterprise integration of iOS / iPadOS and optionally macOS within the highly regulated, BlackRock Digital Workplace environment. The individual will work as a key contributor as part of a global team where diverse perspectives are respected and success depends on effective cross functional collaboration with multiple subject matter groups. An individual who can demonstrate a pride of ownership in everything they do is of the highest importance. This position will have an equal mixture of in office as well as remote work to best support and share the experience of our user base.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering level support for corporate owned and personal Apple devices.
  • Responsible for deployment and administrator of Ivanti (MobileIron) MDM, Intune MDM/MAM and optionally JAMF.
  • Administration of Office 365 / Intune / Azure device compliance integrations.
  • Maintain the development, test and production environments.
  • Deploy and manage iOS apps.
  • Architect and align MDM and Apple technology with business processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Design, develop, and implement solutions to improve security on mobile devices, apps, and systems
  • Create and maintain technical documentation as well as assist with training and providing guidance on best practices to down tier support teams.
  • Manage test plans, and testing groups of users for new releases of iOS / iPadOS
  • Disrupt assumptions, challenge the status quo, and break previous boundaries via consensus building and process refinement for the advantage of the user base.
  • Identify system problems and develop innovative solutions to improve processing efficiency and stability.
  • Engage with cross functional teams in other technology initiatives and projects.
  • Provide escalation support and collaborate with technology teams to troubleshoot issues and provide resolutions.
  • Create supporting documentation for various audiences.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of total progressive IT experience.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting iOS in a highly regulated environment, via MDM systems, especially Ivanti (MobileIron), Intune and JAMF.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting Apple platforms in enterprise environments of 1000+ iOS devices.
  • 3+ years of experience with multiplatform server administration, including upgrades, patching and optimization.
  • Direct experience with the distribution, adoption, and enforcement of iOS upgrades.
  • High level understanding and experience with Microsoft Application Protection and App Configuration
  • Proficient in Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) solutions and products such as Zimperium, Lookout, Jamf Executive Threat Protection (JETP), etc.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in mobile security standards, controls, and compliance such as Mobile Application Management (MAM), CIS benchmarks, VPN technologies, DLP solutions, mobile text messaging archiving solutions, etc.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels, from end users to IT peers to management.
  • Strong understanding of supporting technologies such as authentication, networking, wireless, VPN, peripherals etc.
  • PowerShell or similar scripting experience.
  • Experience Active Directory, Azure AD and certificate distribution, highly desirable.
  • Experience with mobile application configuration management framework utilized to configure, customize and optimize end user client app experience.
  • Experience with Apple Business Manager, Volume Purchase Program and Apple Configurator.
  • Experience with Service Now integrations.
  • Optional, experience with macOS – application packaging, restriction polices, VPN
  • Ability to multi-task and be creative and innovative in a dynamic, fast paced team environment.
  • Experience as solution lead managing projects, solution roadmap, POC and leading initiatives with minimal direction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Flexible to attend late night meetings regularly and work during US business hours as required.
  • Ability to successfully work independently as well as in a global team.
For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$132,500.00 - USD$162,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
