Introduction to Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions
The Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of BlackRock’s index, factor, and alphaseeking investment capabilities to deliver precise investment outcomes and cuttingedge alpha insights. MASS constructs active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels. Currently, MASS manages over $1 trillion in assets and has a strong presence in The United States, Europe, and Asia Pacific region.

Role Overview
As a technologist embedded in the Global MASS Portfolio Management team, you will design, build, and enhance technology and analytical tools used directly by portfolio managers. You will contribute to platform and process improvements, strengthen investment controls, and deliver scalable solutions that support global investment workflows.

- Partner with portfolio managers and citizen developers
- Integrate AI into development and investment workflows

- Production support and monitoring

- Knowledge sharing and documentation
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or a related field
- Proficiency in Python, with experience in writing clean, well-structured code
- Familiarity with software development fundamentals (e.g., testing, version control, debugging)
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and work in a collaborative environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, or a related discipline
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar)
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Basic understanding of financial markets or investment concepts
- Exposure to APIs, data integration, or cloud-based environments
- Awareness of CI/CD practices and modern development workflows

Our hybrid work model
BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all.
