About The Opportunity

The Release Engineering team is the engine that powers our development lifecycle. We maintain the continuous delivery platform that enables hundreds of developers to ship our microservice-based architecture with speed, safety, and confidence.

We are looking for a motivated Release Engineer to join our team and help enhance our cloud-native CI/CD ecosystem. In this role, you will be at the heart of our engineering operations, supporting and improving the build-and-deploy workflows that are critical to our business. Collaborating closely with Architecture, Operations, and product development teams, you will help implement best practices in platform automation and directly contribute to how our software is delivered. What You'll Get Do

  • Maintain & Improve CI/CD Pipelines: Support and enhance the automated build, test, and deployment workflows for our microservices on Microsoft Azure to ensure reliable and timely releases.
  • Contribute to Standardized Tooling: Utilize and contribute to reusable templates and tools that standardize the software delivery lifecycle, helping developers to work more efficiently.
  • Implement Security & Compliance Checks: Help integrate automated security scanning and compliance checks into the development pipeline to support our goal of keeping all releases secure.
  • Support Cloud-Native Best Practices: Assist service teams in their adoption of cloud-native patterns for containerization (Kubernetes), secrets management, and observability within the Azure ecosystem.
  • Monitor & Troubleshoot: Monitor CI/CD platform health and workflow performance, troubleshoot build and deployment issues, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Document & Assist: Create clear documentation for processes and standards, and provide day-to-day support to developers using the CI/CD platform.

Skills And Experience We Value

  • Experience in automating build and release processes, preferably within a microservices environment.
  • Solid scripting ability in at least one language (e.g., Python, Bash, Go) applied to workflow automation.
  • Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD orchestration platforms such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
  • Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native infrastructure on Microsoft Azure (Azure Kubernetes Service, IAM, Container Registry, etc.) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
  • A good understanding of Git-based source control and common branching strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to communicate clearly and partner with internal engineering teams.

What Would Make You Really Stand Out

  • Experience with GitOps principles and tools such as Argo CD or Flux.
  • A background in database release automation.
  • Prior experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or Kanban).
  • Exposure to application migration projects (e.g., monolith to microservices).
