Job Description

While adhering to policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, a Freight Auditor examines, adjusts, and verifies freight bills for accuracy against contracted rates on file. Duties include reviewing audit exception transactions to determine the reason for the exception; document the exception reason; act as the intermediary and help resolve the dispute between two parties based on set guidelines; identify re-occurring reasons for audit exceptions; completing reports and providing administrative support. Responsibilities may also include customer service duties such as answering customer inquiries, resolving customer problems, and responding to customer requests for information.
Audit Exceptions are transactions with an amount that the client expects to pay but does not equal what a carrier has invoiced. All exceptions that prevent an invoice from being paid are reported and managed in the Syncada/Invoice Manager application.

• Responsibilities: Review transactions in Audit Exceptions to determine the reason for the exception.
• Monitor transactions in Audit Exception status within AE queue to ensure transactions are being worked timely. If not moving, then escalate to appropriate party responsible.
• Cleary document the reason for the Audit Exception in the Notes field.
• Resolve the Audit Exception directly based on guidelines provided in the contract or work with client and carrier to a resolution.
• Identify re-occurring reasons for Audit Exceptions.

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

Must live in Illinois to qualify

Start Date: November 4th, 2024

Schedule: 6:30am-2:30pm Monday Friday Central Time.

Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Typically three to five years of clerical and customer service experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Thorough knowledge of products, services, terminology, procedures and systems related to assigned area
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining a high level of customer service
- Ability to identify and resolve/escalate complex problems
- Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00 - $27.50
