Job Description
A Salesforce and Marketing Cloud Data Analyst is responsible for designing and implementing data processes that support marketing campaigns, including data cleaning, mapping, loading, and validation. This role ensures data accuracy and seamless campaign execution by developing ETL integrations, creating custom data structures and formats, and supporting marketing teams with campaign-related data needs.
This individual also helps drive marketing strategy for a defined area, delivering customer-centric, multi-channel programs that support growth, retention, and engagement. They identify and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure performance, optimize strategies, and ensure a strong return on investment.
The role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams—including marketing, product, sales, technical teams, and external agencies—to launch segment-specific campaigns and initiatives. Responsibilities also include managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring all marketing activities align with company standards, regulatory requirements, and bank policies.
Additionally, this role supports alternative marketing channels such as tradeshows, seminars, and industry sponsorships, and adapts plans as needed to address shifting priorities, resources, and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Structure Expertise: Strong understanding of Salesforce data objects, fields, and relationships relevant to marketing campaigns
Data Cleaning: Ability to use scripts and text-based tools to clean, standardize, and format data
Advanced Analytics: Proficiency in writing queries and using advanced Excel techniques for data analysis and presentation
Governance & Optimization: Enforces data governance standards, marketing data conventions, and Marketing Cloud data architecture to support campaign execution
Data Compliance: Implements and automates processes to ensure Marketing Cloud data aligns with company policies and regulatory requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Six or more years of related experience in marketing and marketing strategy with proven ability to deliver results
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Six or more years of experience in marketing data engineering, with at least 4 years in Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred
Strong SQL skills, with experience in API integrations, data modeling, ETL processes, data structures, spreadsheets, and raw data cleansing preferred
Deep understanding of marketing channels, KPI frameworks, and attribution models preferred
Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and marketing automation platforms preferred
Proven experience with data modeling, relational databases (SQL), data mapping, and API integrations preferred
Strong knowledge of Salesforce schema, SOQL, Data Loader, ETL tools, and master data management preferred
Ability to partner with marketing teams to support campaign data throughout the lifecycle
Relevant certifications such as Salesforce Certified Data Architect and/or Platform Data Architect preferred
Demonstrated ability to solve problems and deliver rapid-turnaround data analysis
Ability to interpret project scope, analyze requirements, ask clarifying questions, and develop data queries, tables, or outputs to meet business needs
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and team-building skills
Effective communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities
Demonstrated agility in thinking and execution, with the ability to take direction in support of company goals
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
Ability to delegate and manage multiple projects and priorities, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
Proficiency in navigating and using a variety of software applications

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $111,095.00 - $130,700.00
