The Site Reliability Engineering Intern will work with the SRE team on a combination of software and systems engineering for building and running large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that internal and external services meet or exceed reliability and performance expectations while adhering to Equifax engineering principles.

• We are currently considering internship candidates who are pursuing their undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree and have an expected graduation date between May 2025 and May 2026. 

• The internship program begins May 13th, 2024 and ends on August 2nd, 2024. 

What You’ll Do

• Design, implement and maintain large scale clusters with monitoring, logging and alerting inception and design, through deployment, operation and refinement. Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services. 

• Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.

• Troubleshoot production issues & Practice sustainable incident response and postmortems, and create runbooks.

• Be part of an on-call rotation to support production systems.

• Build and manage systems, infrastructure and applications through automation.

• Write code using programming and/or scripting languages.

• Gain expertise in CI/CD, Jenkins, Nexus.

• Learn and contribute to enhance SLA/SLO and cost optimization for services deployed in a public cloud.

• Learn GCP managed services like GKE, Cloud Spanner, Firestore.

• Communicate with Operations & Product team members.

What experience you need

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in CIS or related discipline.

• Graduating by May 2025 or May 2026. 

• Completed coursework in cloud technologies.

• Ability to work onsite at our office in Alpharetta, GA on a full-time basis for the entire duration of the internship which will be May 13th - August 2nd 2024.

What could set you apart

• Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.

• Familiarity with Agile development practices and good software engineering practices.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
