Software Contract Analyst/Negotiator

The Software Contracts Negotiator/Analyst analyzes market data, organizes legal documents and leverages project management techniques to lead global cross-functional teams (Business, Legal, Security, Technology, Finance) to define licensing requirements and negotiate best-in-class software use rights & commercial terms.

In this role, you will provide licensing subject matter expertise for a broad portfolio of software publishers and products verifying global demand, leading license optimization strategies, reinforcing technology roadmaps and integrating new affiliates to simplify the software environment, minimize compliance risks and reduce costs. In addition, you will partner with IT Asset Management, Business Unit Representatives, Technology, and Finance to analyze usage data, determine effective license positions and verify future demand and budgets for true-ups, certifications and audit responses.

This role is a hybrid work model where you'll be able to work remotely as well as in our Technology office in Alpharetta! (This is not a fully-remote role)

What You Will Do:

• Negotiate complex license agreements, best-in class commercial terms, license use rights, and compliance settlements

• Lead audit response due diligence and negotiate dispute resolution

• Quantify and report license compliance risks

• Partner with Business Owners and Finance to clarify software use cases and value proposition

• Organize Legal documents, clarify contract requirements and work with Legal to redline

• Direct Requestors through corporate Software Acquisition, Legal and Requisition processes

• Manage and negotiate Enterprise License true-up & reconciliation

• Ensure renewals comply with existing contractual agreements and license standards; negotiate as required

• Verify software license entitlements; recommend strategies for license optimization and risk mitigation

• Interpret contract use rights and maintain contract & Proof of Entitlement documentation

• Coordinate with ITAM, Finance, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Tax, Procurement and Legal

• Initiate purchase requisitions for license & maintenance renewals

• Maintain software license, maintenance & proof of entitlement records

• Drive and report savings from maintenance/license optimization

• Perform data mining and analysis

What Experience You Need:

• 3+ years of experience as a subject matter expert in Software Asset Management, licensing, and compliance while influencing senior technical staff and management including:

  • Negotiating software license agreements

  • Leading cross-functional and multi-national teams

  • Working with business and technology teams to confirm software installations, clarify future demand and optimize license agreements

  • Working with Legal to redline license agreements

What Could Set You Apart:

• Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology

• Expert-level Excel/Sheets skills (VLOOKUP, COUNTIF), VBA/Macro is a plus

• Advanced knowledge of License Entitlement and Deployment reconciliation

• Ability to accumulate, organize, and assimilate large amounts of information for multiple sources

• Ability to influence senior technical staff and management

• Experience with Software and Hardware Asset Management concepts, tools and technologies
