Auditor, Compliance

The Auditor, Compliance role will lead second-line compliance assessments to test and evaluate the adequacy of compliance controls across all business units. This position will design, deliver, and lead assessments that add value to the area assessed and reinforce a culture of compliance. This includes delivering scoping memos for the assessments, designing effective test plans, assessing evidence gathered through the assessment process, identifying potential issues, and working with management to ensure and validate remediation of identified issues. The position will be part of the Global Privacy and Compliance team, and will manage individual priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, as well as support other compliance initiatives.

The Auditor, Compliance will be a versatile team player, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic in addressing new challenges across the organization.

This role reports to the Senior Director, Compliance and will be a hybrid workplace model offering the flexibility to work remotely as well as in our office building in Midtown! (This is not a fully-remote role)

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and participate in testing of business processes with a focus on regulated business processes and related technical and operational controls.

  • Conduct compliance assessments, including planning and execution of assessment procedures, identification of control gaps, development of remediation plans, and communication of audit reports to senior management.

  • Partner with teams across Equifax to drive remediation of compliance issues identified during assessments.

  • Maintain knowledge of business operations and applicable financial services regulations.

  • Manage metrics related to role and, where applicable, provide content for leadership reports.

  • Execute control testing across various control areas, including technical and operational controls.

What Experience You'll Need:

  • Three years minimum of auditing experience, preferably Big 4 or a mix of external and internal in the financial services industry.

  • Regulatory audit experience is a plus.

  • Experience performing operational compliance audits is highly preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in accounting, auditing, computer science, information systems, engineering, or a comparable discipline - a plus.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, technical knowledge, and writing

What Could Set You Apart:

  • Graduate degree would be a plus.

  • One or more of the following certifications would be a plus, but not required: CPA, CIA, CISA, CRISC, CRMA, CFE, or equivalent

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical partners, with focus on informing, influencing, and relationship building.

  • In-depth understanding of the financial services industry, including the regulatory landscape and consumer financial protection laws such as FCRA.

  • Experience interpreting financial services regulations.

  • Strong project management and coordination skills with proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and run multiple projects.

  • Demonstrated partnering skills, with experience coordinating initiatives with partners in a multinational organization.
