As part of a high-performing, cross-functional communications team, the Communications Coordinator - External Communications, U.S. Information Solutions (USIS), will focus the majority of their efforts on the identification, creation and distribution of external communications content. This includes, but is not limited to, writing/editing articles for the Equifax Newsroom and Equifax Insights blog, creating social content for the Equifax for Business LinkedIn handle, updating and maintaining the various content trackers that exist across the organization, and be involved with the process of content review.

Additional responsibilities include managing metrics and reporting, as well as other duties as needed to execute an effective communications capability. The ideal candidate is a creative and skilled writer; deadline-oriented; comfortable working independently, with general supervision; exercise judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action; and able to navigate and establish effective relationships across multiple areas and teams within a highly matrixed and change-oriented environment.

What you'll do

Provide strategic and tactical delivery for the external communications needs of the USIS business unit, including:

  • Development and execution of multiple types of external content, including newsroom articles, blogs, social content and announcements across a diverse and complex business unit.

  • Format, proofread, and coordinate distribution of communications, including assisting with the review and editing process.

  • Oversee tracking of earned media coverage, including tracking in the various company calendars to ensure that content timelines stay on track.

  • Leverage digital tools to track the results of external communications initiatives.

  • Prepare reports and presentation materials that effectively demonstrate the outcomes of key communications initiatives.

  • In addition to external communications responsibilities, provide support for internal communications programs as needed to advance the effectiveness of the communications capability.

What experience you need

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism or a related field

  • 2+ years of professional experience in the corporate communications, employee communications, public relations or journalism field (may include internship experience)

  • 2+ years of experience writing compelling content in accordance with AP Style guidelines

  • 2+ years of experience in managing external, third party communications platforms

  • 2+ years of experience managing multiple projects while delivering high-quality results

What could set you apart

  • Proficiency in external measuring platforms (Meltwater, Cision, Looker Studio, etc.)

  • Proficiency in Social Media platforms, both natively and third party (Sprout Social, Sprinklr, Hootsuite, etc.)

  • Proficiency in content management platforms (Liferay, SiteCore, Adobe, etc.)

  • Experience in a Google Workspace environment, and creative content platforms (Adobe, Canva, etc.)

  • Experience working in a public relations agency or for a publicly traded company

  • Experience working in the financial services or technology sectors
