This Assistant General Counsel position will primarily provide support to Equifax Workforce Solution's Government team. A key aspect for any successful candidate is the ability to build strong relationships and effectively collaborate with business colleagues, other in-house attorneys and outside counsel.
What You'll Do:
Negotiate, document and provide strategic direction and leadership on sophisticated, complex enterprise deals, as well as legal support on matters arising in day-to-day operations
Requires a broad business perspective, the ability to apply this perspective to legal analysis and to devise innovative solutions that meet client needs
All work will require a "business" as well as a "legal" approach, requiring competencies in anticipating legal issues, accepting and effectively resolving sensitive legal projects and handling difficult situations diplomatically
Direct interaction with multiple internal business units to provide legal counsel and assist in the enhancement of policies, procedures and process flows
Take on department projects and initiatives designed to improve legal service delivery within the enterprise
Qualifications:
Law degree from ABA accredited law school and membership in good standing of any state bar, Missouri state-bar preferred
7+ years of relevant legal experience at a law firm or a combination of law firm and in-house experience
Extra Points for any of the Following:
Litigation, regulatory compliance and/or privacy experience is required
Industry experience with regulated businesses (especially the FCRA) is desired
Demonstrated business counseling, communications and conflict management skills
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment, and ability to exercise sound judgment while working autonomously
Ability to see the big picture while executing on the appropriate details
Willingness to learn, strong communication skills, team player
Strong drafting, communication and collaboration skills
