This Assistant General Counsel position will primarily provide support to Equifax Workforce Solution's Government team. A key aspect for any successful candidate is the ability to build strong relationships and effectively collaborate with business colleagues, other in-house attorneys and outside counsel.

What You'll Do:

  • Negotiate, document and provide strategic direction and leadership on sophisticated, complex enterprise deals, as well as legal support on matters arising in day-to-day operations

  • Requires a broad business perspective, the ability to apply this perspective to legal analysis and to devise innovative solutions that meet client needs

  • All work will require a "business" as well as a "legal" approach, requiring competencies in anticipating legal issues, accepting and effectively resolving sensitive legal projects and handling difficult situations diplomatically

  • Direct interaction with multiple internal business units to provide legal counsel and assist in the enhancement of policies, procedures and process flows

  • Take on department projects and initiatives designed to improve legal service delivery within the enterprise

Qualifications:

  • Law degree from ABA accredited law school and membership in good standing of any state bar, Missouri state-bar preferred

  • 7+ years of relevant legal experience at a law firm or a combination of law firm and in-house experience

Extra Points for any of the Following:

  • Litigation, regulatory compliance and/or privacy experience is required

  • Industry experience with regulated businesses (especially the FCRA) is desired

  • Demonstrated business counseling, communications and conflict management skills

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment, and ability to exercise sound judgment while working autonomously

  • Ability to see the big picture while executing on the appropriate details

  • Willingness to learn, strong communication skills, team player

  • Strong drafting, communication and collaboration skills
