The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City (FRBKC) is seeking a Scrum Master to join the Do Not Pay (DNP) program. FRBKC supports the development, application operations and project management office of the DNP web-based portal. The DNP portal is a resource for federal agencies and federally funded state administered programs to identify, prevent, and recover improper payments.

This position is seeking an individual who has a proven track record of supporting complex technology projects, as well as a servant leader that can enable the team to work effectively to deliver on priorities. Additionally, this position is seeking an individual with strong analytical and project management skills who can help to ensure program metrics and deliverables are proactively monitored and communicated to program leadership and stakeholders.

Key Activities:

  • Enacts Agile/Scrum principles as the Scrum Master on projects and programs in partnership with other Scrum Masters, the development team, Product Owner, Business Analyst, and project leadership.

  • Guides the team in prioritizing work based upon knowledge of customer requirements, project schedule, and various dependencies.

  • Facilitates various Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, retro discussions, and sprint planning.

  • Maintains roadmaps, milestones, risks, and deadlines for deliverables and proactively communicates progress to project leadership. Provides clear and regular visibility and transparency to project leadership and stakeholders on progress and status.

  • Works with stakeholders to identify, develop, and maintain key program metrics.

  • Effective facilitator and can brainstorm with the team to generate solutions that address challenges and roadblocks to deliver value to customers.

  • Scope of contacts involves frequent interaction with internal and external project sponsors, stakeholders, project teams, and peers. Reports to, advises, and works closely with multiple project sponsors across business line, the System, and/or the Treasury. Nature of interactions includes facilitating, directing and influencing project teams, and building, navigating, and maintaining collaborative customer and stakeholder relationships. May routinely interact and build relationships with senior executives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree specializing in computer science, project management, business administration, or information technology from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of directly related education and/or experience.

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and/or other related certifications preferred.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to articulate and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical individuals.

  • Strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead through influence.

  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Agile experience preferred.

  • Screening Requirements: United States citizenship is required for this position. This position has additional screening requirements due to the information accessed while preforming the job. These additional screenings would be initiated at the time of offer acceptance and can take up to a couple of months to be completed.
