You will be responsible for oversight of the Financial Data Analytical Services (FDAS) department. FDAS is charged with collecting and analyzing financial and structural information from the Sixth District’s domestic and foreign banks and holding companies in order to support monetary policy and regulatory objectives of the Federal Reserve System. Participate in ongoing policy making and strategic planning locally and in the System. Maintain accountability for ongoing of collection of sensitive financial and structure data from Sixth District depository institutions and holding companies for the purposes of Supervision and Regulation, Credit and Risk Management, Research, and setting monetary policy. Provide strategic direction and manage Division financial and human resources effectively and efficiently to achieve the organization's mission. You report to the Vice President of Central Bank Services (CBS).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the FDAS department, which is charged with the ingestion, analysis, and dissemination of monetary, regulatory and structure data required in conjunction with the System’s data collection program.

  • Participate in the formulation of objectives, policies, procedures, and strategic direction in support of Statistics business line high-priority initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external constituencies in support of System and District objectives. Also, identify, integrate, and manage technical and process innovation within the System and across regulatory data collection entities.

  • Communicate with financial institutions’ management, Board of Governors senior staff, local executive management, counterparts from other Federal Reserve Banks, and senior officials within S&R, Credit & Risk Management, Research, and other agencies regarding collected data from financial institutions.

  • Lead and/or actively participate in System level work groups to affect the strategic direction of the System’s Statistics business line, including but not limited to mitigating depository institution risk, technological and modernization efforts, inter -regulatory collaboration, and business continuity efforts.

  • Maintain an understanding of the regulatory changes and policy statements that impact financial reporting from DIs and Holding companies.

  • Provide leadership and oversight, development opportunities, and strategic direction to other people leaders and experienced professionals. Perform personnel management functions such as hiring, staff development, counseling, employee performance appraisals, compensation decisions, and other personnel actions.

  • Manage department budget, including directing management and staff responsible for the collection and analysis of planned expenses in support of department strategies.

Position Requirements:

  • Strong Regulatory Reporting and Bank Structure experience a plus

  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to develop strategic plans in a complex business environment while identifying the need for and manage change to realize operational and strategic business improvements

  • Strong and proven people leadership skills with a people-centric style

  • Proven ability and willingness to make the tough decisions

  • Excellent influence skills (key for System work and to help market the FDAS service to the Bank)

  • Proven experience leading System-wide committees, projects and/or initiatives required

  • Excellent ability and desire to create an inclusive culture that seeks and promotes diverse views and perspectives

  • Strong ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with senior leaders within the Bank and Federal Reserve System as well as with institution management, and colleagues at other governmental agencies.

  • Strong understanding of Information Technology, data management strategies and related processes and methodologies preferred

Highly Specialized or Technical Skills/Certifications:

Knowledge and experience in Bank Regulations and/or Regulatory Reporting highly preferred with demonstrated understanding of banking and financial analysis and risk.
