The Marketing Communications team is an inclusive, innovative group within FRFS tasked with strategic brand management and integrated communications strategies across FRFS payments products and services. We are seeking an associate copy editor to ensure quality and accuracy across a range of content, including promotional, educational, and operational materials and communications. The ideal candidate will leverage their editing expertise across B2B communications channels, collaborating with fellow editors and content creators to support FRFS business objectives.

This position will be primarily responsible for editing and proofing various types of content including email copy, web pages, blogs, bylined articles, press releases, white papers, social media, infographics, video scripts, speeches and presentations, etc.

This role will also assist in defining and refining internal writing standards and style guidelines for a team of writers, contributors and internal stakeholders. As needed, this role will provide writing and project management support for content marketing campaigns and integrated communications projects, executing copy across all channels including web, email, social, etc. to drive awareness and engagement in FRFS products and initiatives.

An associate-level contributor, this position will work under supervision of a manager, and in close collaboration with a dynamic team of marketing and communications professionals. This position does not have direct reports.

If the candidate is not a current Federal Reserve Bank System employee, this position will be based out of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and the employee will be required to fulfill the on-site hybrid requirement.

Key Activities:

  • Edit a range of cross-channel content in accordance with AP and in-house style guides, focusing on excellence in B2B writing style, brevity, and creativity to capture and engage our financial institution customers and stakeholder audiences

  • Evolve and update writing standards and style guidelines as needed, based on stakeholder input or industry trends

  • Communicate changes to writing standards/guidelines internally and coordinate team trainings to support best practices in writing, consistency and tone

  • Build communication project plans and coordinate content reviews and approvals, proactively managing the process to meet deadlines

  • Support the development of project status reports/campaign reports, documentation, and presentations to key stakeholders

  • Develop and maintain website content to collect customer data and generate targeted distribution lists

  • Support positive working relationships with internal stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, communications, marketing, related field or equivalent experience

  • 3-5 years of related work experience

  • Strong command of written communications, including all aspects of English style, grammar, punctuation, and mechanics

  • Strong familiarity with AP style guide and keen attention to detail

  • Ability to synthesize complex topics and information

  • Basic knowledge of digital content strategy, corporate communications, B2B marketing principles and practices

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a complex, deadline-driven, geographically diverse, and matrixed organization

  • Skilled presenter and oral communicator

  • Proven project management skills and attention to detail when coordinating content reviews

  • Demonstrated aptitude to leverage relevant technology and software applications

  • Ability and willingness to provide occasional afterhours/weekend communication support

  • Must be willing to travel up to 5% of time

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

This position has additional screening requirements due to the information accessed while performing the job.
