We are looking for a Risk Management Specialist to fill an important position – who can support departments across the Bank by identifying risks, evaluating controls, and recommending process enhancements. The Risk Management Consulting team provides expertise and guidance to our partners throughout the organization to help identify and assess risks while adding value to the Bank. As our Risk Management Specialist, you will be part of a team to provide support to the department's main functions: Bank-wide Strategic Planning and Performance Monitoring, Enterprise Risk Management, Risk Event Reporting, Business Continuity, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)/COSO, and Data Privacy.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, mitigate, monitor, and report risks to the Bank's strategy, projects, and ongoing operations. Artifacts include items such as a risk management framework, department risk assessments, and top risk reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors. Also, participate in the Bank's cross-divisional Enterprise Risk Management Advisory Committee and various risk information sharing groups.

  • Aggregate and report Bank-wide risk-related information to provide a comprehensive view to senior management and the Board of Directors strengthening leadership decisions.

  • Support business areas in maintaining their Business Continuity Plans and Business Impact Analysis, help coordinate Business Resumption Tests and various readiness event exercises and provide reporting to senior management.

  • Support the Business Continuity function with use of new technologies, maintaining records, and creating various reporting.

  • Assist in the annual SOX/COSO process with in-scope departments, central service providers, and the Bank's external auditor, including the review of department risk, control, and testing documentation. Assist in the Bank's annual external audit process and the relationship with the Bank's external auditor.

  • Support various projects to create efficiencies for the department, expand services offered to business partners, and/or improve Risk Management Consulting’s capabilities.

  • Maintain knowledge of department processes and excellent working relationships with Bank management and staff, Internal Audit, and the Bank's external auditor.

  • Work with System-level workgroups and peer groups to enhance overall risk processes and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting or similar field of study, or commensurate experience.

  • 3 years of experience assessing risks and controls.

  • Certifications relating to risks and controls or experience with risk management or business continuity, auditing, SOX/COSO, or accounting preferred. Examples include Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Business Continuity Professional, etc.

  • Willingness to stretch into new areas of learning across the multiple functions within Risk Management Consulting.

  • Strong analytical, collaborative, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.

  • Candidates with less experience may be considered at a lower job grade or salary.

  • Travel (5%).

Salary: $76,900 - $88,290 annual.

Position: Hybrid/On-site minimum 3 days per week.
