The St. Louis Fed’s most essential responsibilities include: promoting stable prices and economic growth, fostering a sound financial system, providing payment services to financial institutions, supporting the U.S. Treasury's financial operations, and advancing economic education, community development and fair access to credit.The Bank’s Information Technology Services Department seeks a motivated DevOps Engineer with experience in cloud-based infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code, and full-stack development. The role involves building new DevOps solutions and enhancing existing ones. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, to contribute to the creation and maintenance of innovative, reusable enterprise technology solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design complex full-stack cloud technology solutions in collaboration with application development teams, aligned with the vision established by technology and product leaders.
- Take ownership of existing technology solutions, contributing and recommending improvements to increase efficiency, resiliency, and reduce manual effort
- Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) under the guidance of senior engineer/architect. IaC tools include CDK, Terraform, PowerShell, bash and Python.
- Drive the implementation of additional tools and processes that maintain an automation-first approach to DevSecOps.
- Collaborate with teams to understand their current infrastructure state and assist them in achieving the next step forward.
- Act as a subject matter expert for DevOps; act as an escalation point for application development teams.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field, or equivalent experience; technical certification preferred
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, encompassing:
- Knowledge of CDK, Ansible, Terraform, Python, shell scripting, or other automation tools.
- Development experience including CI/CD pipeline development, automated builds, testing, and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience operating in GitLab, GitHub or equivalent Git based product
- Developing and maintaining infrastructure solutions in Amazon Web Services (AWS), including tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Lambda, and serverless deployments
- Applying Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices in planning and organizing work
- Monitoring platform/application using tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, CloudWatch is preferred.
- Occasional travel may be required
- US Citizenship required

Salary: $74,900-95,500
