About the role:
This executive-level role is responsible for the second line of defense Compliance oversight of all FIS regulated entities and contractually obligated business units globally. Each regulated entity has an assigned Compliance Officer (CO) and, where applicable, a Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) responsible for creating and maintaining best-in-class regulatory compliance programs. This position will provide expert leadership, compliance advice and guidance, business support, and regulatory engagement support to the Compliance Officers and their respective teams and will work closely with the Global Head of Financial Crime Compliance. The position reports directly to the FIS Chief Compliance Officer and plays a pivotal role in leading the development and oversight of a robust control environment across FIS’ global regulated entity footprint, ensuring continued compliance with state, federal, and international regulatory requirements.
What you will be doing:
Manage COs/MLROs for FIS regulated entities and relevant contractually obligated business units.
Lead the centralized oversight and management of FIS’ regulated entity Compliance teams.
Develop and implement a framework to deliver clarity and consistency in processes, controls, governance, reporting and oversight for regulated entities and contractually obligated business units.
Balance the needs of sovereign regulated entities with adherence to FIS parent Company policies and governance frameworks.
Engaging with/reporting to regulators as required, overseeing regulatory inspections/exams, and supporting COs/MLROs in developing effective strategies to mitigate regulatory risk.
Fostering strong stakeholder relationships across FIS to develop knowledge and awareness of, and support for, regulated entity compliance requirements e.g. outsourcing.
Leading for the regulated entities on significant regulatory change programs as required.
Support M&A due diligence and FIS integration efforts with respect to newly acquired regulated entities, establishing a Compliance program consistent with the FIS Compliance governance framework.
Serve as an escalation point for the COs/MLROs for all regulated entities and contractually obligated business units.
Coordinate closely with the Global Head Financial Crime Compliance to ensure alignment on relevant policies, procedures, risk assessments, regulatory change, and governance.
What you bring:
15+ years in financial services regulatory compliance experience, with 5+ years in an executive leadership role, gained at a bank, regulated investment firm and/or fintech.
Deep knowledge of compliance program requirements applicable to regulated entities, preferably both US domestic and international, covering a diverse range of regulated corporate and consumer businesses.
Proven ability to lead large, geographically distributed teams.
Ability to align parent company framework and strategy with business resources, objectives and diverse regulatory expectations.
Strong stakeholder management skills, executive presence and ability to influence C-level stakeholders.
Deep expertise in general financial services regulatory compliance, including experience of managing Compliance programs/teams for firms supervised by one or more of the following US and international regulators: CFPB, FRB, FDIC, NCUA, FTC, NYDFS, SEC, FINRA, OCC, FCA, JFSC, CBI, CSSF, BaFin.
Strong understanding of financial services industry client and operational needs, regulatory expectations, and required controls.
Experience engaging with regulators.
