About the role:

As a Software Engineer Senior, you’ll be working with global clients to ….

· Complete all stages of the development lifecycle

· Develop and execute application software using COBOL, Db2 and IMS to meet our client’s requirements.

· Drive continuous improvement by sharing your expertise, and assisting less experienced team members.

· Provide essential support to internal users, ensuring system stability through proactive maintenance, and participating in an out-of-hours cover rotation.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects that support our payment systems.

About the team:

Be a part of a team of Software Engineers who…

· Deliver bespoke tactical solutions for our International clients

· Report and update data at scale

· Are experts at recovering and correcting data

· Plan projects in detail and deliver to that plan

What you will be doing:

· You will be writing code to fulfil client requirements

· You will be estimating and planning small – medium sized projects

· You will be responsible for delivering the projects by the agreed date(s)

· You will be conducting Unit Testing of your code

· You will be participating in code reviews

· You will be running jobs to create reports and update client data

· You will need to provide out-of-hours (including weekend) cover on a rota basis

What you will need:

· Strong technical foundations in COBOL and JCL for z/OS, with a proven track record of delivering clean, reliable code.

· Experience with IMS and/or Db2

· Experience of Mainframe Tools and Utilities, such as TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JCL, Sort

· A willingness to learn new technology

· Adaptability and organisation, staying calm and focused during busy periods, or when handling out-of-hours support

· Good communication skills, allowing you to work effectively with both technical peers and internal stakeholders.
