Job Title
Data AnalystWhat does a successful Data Analyst do at Fiserv?
The Data Conversion team works directly with new clients to convert their existing credit card portfolios onto Fiserv processing platforms. The team, comprised of project managers, data analysts, and conversion programmers, perform an initial review of a converting client’s data files to develop an extensive list of reports. Then, they utilize custom tools to analyze the data, develop technical specifications for converting the data and present the specifications to the client. They also write the conversion programs and processes and assist with the testing/loading process.
This position offers a variety of opportunities to handle both business and technical projects, learn and use multiple Fiserv applications/products, work with new technologies (like EMV and digital payments) and develop relationships with many large financial institutions across the globe. We provide associates the opportunity to try different roles (programmer, analyst and project manager) based on experience and our associates are encouraged to develop new skills and knowledge allowing them to take on new challenging assignments for our clients. Our team is encouraged to think “outside the box” and make process improvements. The role provides a unique opportunity to use both technical and analytical skills, knowledge of the payment processing industry, and soft skills (communication, managing expectation, leading large efforts) required to work effectively with clients.
What you will do:
- Perform technical data mapping analysis.
- Deliver and execute conversion project milestones for the full project life cycle from initiation through project closure.
- Design and document complex technical requirements for business applications.
- Ensure quality of data conversion suite including holding quality inspections and validate offline System and Output testing of data conversion files.
- Monitor and report progress; identify risks and issues; manage and escalate appropriately.
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor's degree IT, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years’ experience in a client-facing role.
- 2+ years’ experience in testing and validation of output, reports, and financial balancing.
- Travel required: 1-2 trips annually.
What would be great to have:
- Experience in Mainframe applications, COBOL, IBM JCL, and TSO/TPX.
- Experience in converting to new credit issuing platforms, especially Optis
- Experience with and knowledge of Fiserv production programs and processes.
- Understanding of the Issuing Industry and associated products.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills, and meticulous attention to detail including the ability to analyze and/or code data from different platforms in order to integrate the data into a Fiserv platform.
This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, New York or Washington.
