Kubernetes Container Platform Engineer

What does a successful Kubernetes Container Platform Engineer do at Fiserv?

You will work with the engineering team to resolve the plans of self-service automation and orchestration for Fiserv infrastructure through Kubernetes container platforms administration and operations, client onboarding, and upgrading as needed. You will help globalize the platform services offering and standardizing those platform deployments across the enterprise for our community of over 20,000 developers and DevOps team members.

What you will do:

• Design, implement, and operate container services platforms with a focus on integrating these platforms with other tools using good Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
• Identify and consider all risks and balance those with efficient resolutions
• Analyze, diagnose, replicate, and resolve technical issues reported by customer using the Fiserv PaaS and CaaS platforms
• Write maintainable reusable software and always think self-served from consumer perspective
• Advance unresolved issues that require more in-depth knowledge in a timely manner
• Own, handle, and maintain status on support requests from the business unit customers
• Report and submit product defects and work with other engineering groups to triage customer and business unit issues
• Build and peer review knowledge base articles and product documentation

What you will need to have:

• 5+ years of experience building and maintaining container platforms such as PAS, TAS, PKS, and TKGI with IBM Redhat and OpenShift
• 5+ years of experience deploying and supporting Kubernetes on at least one public IaaS provider (Azure, Amazon, GCP, Alibaba)
• 5+ years of experience in operations and systems administration on UNIX/Linux and Windows
• ​5+ years of experience designing and implementing containerized infrastructure logging and tools such as Splunk, Fluentd or Fluentbit, Prometheus, Grafana, Alert Manager Suite, Wavefront, and APPD
• Experience with .NET Core and .NET Framework
• Experience with configuration management, TCP/IP, subnetting, routing, and DNS
• Experience with Concourse, Salt, Fabric, Jenkins, or Octopus Deploy
• Bachelor’s degree in business, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

What would be great to have:

• Experience in Agile methodologies
• Experience with NSX, NSX-T, Panorama experience
• Experience with Vsphere7 and TKG
• Experience in Go programming and Python scripting
