Job Title
Director, Automation PlatformsWhat does a successful Automation Platforms Director do at Fiserv?
In this role you will develop and implement the automation architecture strategy aligned with Fiserv’s goals by leading and mentoring a team of engineers and architects to drive automation initiatives as well as develop and maintain as set of internal automation platforms used by other teams. You will assist with designing and overseeing the creation of scalable automation frameworks and tools while ensuring the integration of automation solutions with existing platforms and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, systems and network engineering, operations, and product management, to identify and implement automation opportunities and initiatives. The core platforms your team will utilize and manage are Rundeck Enterprise, Nautobot and HashiCorp Vault along with heavy use of ansible and python.
What you will do:
- Create and effectively communicate product vision to customers and stakeholders and align automation platforms goals with business objectives
- Monitor and analyze the performance of automation systems to ensure efficiency and reliability
- Implement best practices for continuous improvement and optimization of automation processes and platforms
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in automation technologies
- Identify potential risks associated with automation and develop mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to automation and data security
- Manage the budget for automation projects and allocate resources effectively and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget constraints
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills in automation while foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team
What you will need to have:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in automation and operations, with a proven track record of managing senior Engineers and Architects
- Experience with ITIL processes and procedures
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience
What would be great to have:
- Proficiency in automation and orchestration tools and platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Rundeck, Ansible), scripting languages (e.g., shell, python, ansible, yml), and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) as well as experience creating and running docker containers
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with Rundeck Enterprise, Nautobot and HashiCorp Vault
- Experience with Agile delivery and Platform as a Product
- Experience with and knowledge of automating day 2 operations and application operations
This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, New York, Nevada, Rhode Island or Washington.
