Job Title
Instructional DesignerWhat does a great Instructional Designer do at Fiserv?
The Instructional Designer at Fiserv is responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of learning opportunities for financial product and service software offerings. They collaborate with Product and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to determine audio-visual content needs, develop course creation standards, and translate complex information into engaging eLearning or Micro Learning courses, simulations, and videos. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in adult learning theories, leadership, verbal communication, and excel in a fast-paced development environment.
What you will do:
- Support strategy for planning, creating, managing, and deploying content.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with content creators, SMEs, and stakeholders for consistent content tone and style.
- Create, revise, and maintain eLearning and Microlearning materials.
- Design and develop SCORM compliant eLearning courses.
- Apply product-specific knowledge utilizing graphic design, instructional design, writing, and editing skills.
- Manage project lifecycle and development aspects.
- Translate technical designs into user-friendly learning material.
- Master departmental style guides and procedures.
- Identify requirements, scope, and project work estimation.
- Determine timelines and report progress to project sponsors.
- Utilize online resources for project delivery.
- Transform complex data into usable information.
- Manage daily project work efficiently.
- Create final content for client-facing training and documentation.
- Interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
What You Will Need To Have:
- 2-3 years of experience with eLearning tools (Camtasia, Captivate, Articulate 360).
- 2-3 years of instructional design methodology experience.
- Experience formulating eLearning strategies.
- Proficiency in content analysis, modeling, design, and structured writing.
- Familiarity with screen capture and editing tools (Flare, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to participate in Agile meetings and align initiatives with training requirements.
What Would Be Great To Have:
- 2-3 years of experience with cognitive adult learning theories.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems, especially Cornerstone.
- Banking industry experience in platforms, applications, payments, or financial solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Technical Communications, Professional Writing, English, or Journalism (preferred) or equivalent work experience or instructional design certification.
