Director of Service Automation and OrchestrationAbout Your Role
The Director of Service Automation and Orchestration leads the design, delivery, and operation of a secure, unified private cloud provisioning platform for on‑premise data centers. This role is responsible for driving infrastructure automation through a centralized self‑service portal and APIs, enabling consistent, compliant, and scalable provisioning with minimal human interaction.
What you’ll do:
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of developers, automation engineers, and support engineers. This also includes owning the hiring process, performance management, career development, and compensation planning
- Act as the FTS Product Manager/Lead for the service automation platform where you will be responsible for developing product strategy and business cases, engage with customers, prioritize features and enhancements, and define business outcomes aligned to enterprise requirements,
- Ensure compliance with all corporate requirements, including timesheets, training, ECRAs, MAPs, and audit findings while also ensuring all provisioned infrastructure meets hardening standards and cybersecurity policies
- Own a secure, unified private cloud provisioning experience delivered through a single self‑service portal and APIs, while you also deliver on real-time UI and API-driven provisioning of Linux and Windows virtual machines
- Lead development of a global on‑premises infrastructure provisioning platform supporting both Day 1 (provisioning) and Day 2 (lifecycle management) operations
- Enable repeatable server provisioning using engineered patterns that optimize consumption of underlying data center capacity
- Recommend and execute business-wide strategies and escalate significant risks or delivery issues to senior management as needed
- Lead quarterly Product Increment planning sessions
Experience you’ll need to have:
- 10+ years of experience with networking, systems engineering, virtualization, and private cloud technologies
- 7+ years of experience managing VMware environments, including vCenter and vRA/vRO
- 5+ years of experience delivering infrastructure automation platforms in regulated enterprise environments
- 5+ years of experience managing cross‑functional teams and operating at both strategic and execution levels
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience
Experience that would be great to have:
- Experience working with Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Prior experience in a Product Manager role

Travel:
- Approximately 10-20% travel off-site or to other office locations is expected
