About your role:

As a Technical Project Management Director, you will lead a portfolio management team supporting Issuer Solutions and Corporate Technology. You will own portfolio standards, reporting, and metrics, and serve as a key liaison across delivery, business, and finance. You will help senior leaders make informed capital allocation decisions by driving transparency into spend, risk, and performance across complex, cross-functional technology initiatives.

What you'll do:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve project and portfolio management standards, reporting, and metrics for Issuer Solutions and Corporate Technology.
  • Own and enhance portfolio spend transparency, accountability, and oversight, ensuring alignment to strategic and financial objectives.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for myFiserv and Clarity for Issuer Solutions and Corporate Technology, including governance of data quality and usage.
  • Act as a conduit between delivery, business, and finance teams to align priorities, resolve issues, and drive informed decision-making.
  • Coordinate with the project management (PM) organization to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of portfolio data in corporate tools.
  • Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to portfolio quality, budget adherence, capitalization, and on-time delivery for projects spanning multiple business units or functions.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with functional leadership, including CIOs, CFOs, and management committee members, ensuring collaboration and transparency.
  • Prepare and deliver clear, data-driven presentations and recommendations to support key capital allocation and prioritization decisions.
  • Lead, develop, and coach a team of portfolio and project management professionals, setting clear expectations and driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure strong understanding and alignment to organizational business strategies within the portfolio.

Experience you'll need to have:

  • 8+ years of experience in portfolio management, technical project management, or IT consulting leading large, complex technology initiatives.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and developing teams in a portfolio management, project management, or technology organization.
  • Experience influencing and partnering with senior leaders (for example, CIO, CFO, business line leaders) to drive portfolio or capital allocation decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and to manage cross-functional projects or programs across business and technology.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder communication, negotiation, and relationship-building, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, structured, and action-oriented way.
  • Working knowledge of the technology project lifecycle (for example, discovery, development, testing, implementation) and portfolio KPIs (such as budget adherence, delivery timelines, and resource utilization).
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Experience with financial services or payments, particularly issuer processing or other Issuer Solutions domains.
  • Hands-on experience with myFiserv, Clarity, or similar enterprise portfolio management and financial tracking tools.
  • Background in capital planning, technology investment governance, or enterprise-level prioritization frameworks.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP), or similar certification, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

How you'll work:

  • This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
