Application Specialist AdvisorAbout your role:
As a Technical Business Analyst Advisor, you will lead requirements discovery and documentation for complex software initiatives that support client implementations, product enhancements, and new product launches. You will work closely with clients, product management, engineering, quality assurance, and solution teams to translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user interface wireframes, and delivery-ready backlog items. Your work helps teams align scope, improve execution, and deliver solutions that meet client and business objectives.
What you'll do:
- Lead requirements gathering sessions with clients and internal stakeholders to define business needs, use cases, process flows, and application scope for complex software initiatives.
- Translate business and technical requirements into functional specifications, design documentation, wireframes, acceptance criteria, and supporting implementation artifacts.
- Partner with Solutions Consultants, Solutions Architects, developers, quality assurance teams, and product managers to refine requirements, estimate effort, and support proposal and scoping activities.
- Create and maintain product backlog items in JIRA, including user stories, defects, enhancements, priorities, and requirement updates across Agile delivery cycles.
- Support Agile ceremonies such as stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and cross-functional collaboration to drive clear delivery outcomes.
- Analyze client-reported issues, support root cause analysis, document defect requirements, and assist with functional testing and user acceptance testing.
- Develop reference documentation, user guides, help content, and other collateral to support product adoption, feature releases, and operational readiness.

Experience you'll need to have:
- 4+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or technical business analysis for large, complex software solutions.
- 1+ years of experience gathering, documenting, and validating business and functional requirements across the software development life cycle with the Optis platform
- 4+ years of experience working with Agile methodologies and managing user stories, defects, and sprint activities in JIRA.
- Experience with web-based and middleware technologies, including Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE), Extensible Markup Language (XML), JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), or similar technologies.
- Experience creating functional documentation, process flows, wireframes, acceptance criteria, and user acceptance testing artifacts using Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
Experience that would be great to have:
- Experience supporting clients in financial services environments, including banks or credit unions.
- Experience serving in ScrumMaster responsibilities within Agile software development teams.
- Experience supporting technology modernization or cloud adoption initiatives.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects across multiple software products.
How you'll work:
- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.

Salary Range
$100,000.00 - $165,600.00These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
