Job Summary
This position is responsible for primarily entering consumer loan data into the loan origination system, and assembling and verifying loan documents for accuracy. The incumbent communicates the application status with borrowers, obtains needed documentation, and verifies data. This position is also responsible for managing time sensitive material and meeting deadlines, and helps coordinate the closing process with lenders, borrowers, and settlement agents. This position may also process residential loan as needed.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

- Process consumer and possibly residential loans from application to approval.
- Evaluate a borrower’s profile to determine whether the borrower qualifies for the program applied.
- Review and analyze qualifying income documentation, review bank statements, verify applicant credit, employment, property valuations and reserves and process the loan accordingly.
- Order, review and analyze third-party verifications, such as title, tax and insurance information, and any other items required for loan approval.
- Monitor outstanding title and property evaluation orders; request corrections, if needed.
- Review disclosures for completeness and compliance.
- Responsible for identifying and clearing any/all associated fraud alerts on borrower identity and subject collateral.
- Maintain communication with borrowers throughout the loan process, assisting them with any questions and notifying them of any additional requirements.
- Responsible for scheduling the closing date with all parties.
- Manage pipelines to assure timely execution of duties.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
- Adhere to all corporate policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations, and laws.
- Complete all mandatory annual compliance training.
- Follow regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection, and determent of money laundering and other unlawful activities, as well as regulations pertaining to lending and consumer compliance to include fair lending laws.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required:
- 2+ years of retail banking or related field with exposure to Consumer and/or residential lending.
- Familiarity with all federal and state banking regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and the USA Patriot Act.
- Familiarity with all federal and state banking regulations pertaining to lending and consumer compliance, including fair lending laws.
- General knowledge of bank deposit and investment products and services.
- Thorough knowledge of mortgage program, loan policies, and loan processing functions and related requirements and procedures.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, with the ability to learn other mortgage-related software programs.
- Excellent attention to detail, and above average organizational and communications skills.
- Focus/desire to serve customer needs, and provide excellent customer service.
Preferred:
- Previous consumer loan or mortgage processing experience.
