Job Purpose
The Financial Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the seamless integration of financial models with other ICE products. This position involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to perform analytical quality assurance and conduct benchmarking tests between two ICE integrations built on distinct methodologies. The goal is to ensure that all integrations meet ICE’s standards and quality requirements.
The ideal candidate is proactive, comfortable working both independently and in teams, and able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. They will be resourceful in identifying and resolving issues creatively.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, test, and calibrate financial models, tools, and products.
- Collaborate with Research and Development on the application and development of financial tools.
- Utilize one or more analytical tools from a suite of mathematical and application-based resources to perform analysis on products, transactions, market activities, or investment vehicles with multiple influencing variables.
- Provide quantitative reports on proposed purchases, sales, marketing actions, transaction structures, market activities, and risk factors, including their potential impact.
- Explain model behavior, conduct scenario analyses, and offer guidance and analytics.
- Perform ad hoc analyses and support product line managers with valuation and pricing projects.
- Assist in transaction planning and structuring by contributing to credit analysis and pricing strategies.
- Propose new risk indicators for management review and implementation.
- Collaborate with business owners to design and implement interfaces for recording key indicators, and research industry best practices for analyzing and reporting performance metrics.
- Develop test cases and validate systems used for analytics, pricing, risk management, and credit analysis to ensure alignment with business needs and accurate implementation.

Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical skills with practical application capabilities.
- Proven ability to solve complex technical problems, assimilate information quickly, and work under time constraints.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills; able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams across ICE.
- Skilled in translating business requirements into technical solutions.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
- Experience developing mathematical formulas, financial models, and computer programs to simulate market trends and risks.
- Deep understanding of financial theory and market behavior.
- Proficiency in SQL, databases, scripting languages, and R.
