Overview

Job Purpose

The New York Stock Exchange (an Intercontinental Exchange company) is seeking an Assistant Supervisor of Facilities. This position supports the Facilities Supervisor/Manager in overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and safety of all buildings, grounds, and related infrastructure. This role ensures that facilities are clean, functional, compliant, and fully prepared to support organizational needs.

The Assistant Supervisor provides leadership to the porter staff, coordinates work assignments, assists with vendor management, and helps maintain a proactive and efficient facilities operation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing day‑to‑day activities of porter staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and grounds to identify maintenance needs and safety hazards.
  • Help manage daily schedules and workflow of the Special Events Conference Room setup and elevator staff, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Provide guidance and direction to porter staff during daily operations.
  • Assist in organizing work assignments, setting priorities, and ensuring appropriate staffing levels.
  • Train team members on safety procedures, equipment use, and best practices.
  • Foster a positive, efficient, and safety‑focused work environment.

Knowledge and Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with work order systems and basic computer applications.
  • Strong knowledge of modern cleaning methods, materials, tools, equipment, their proper use, and upkeep.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and best practices related to custodial equipment and cleaning products.
  • Demonstrated dependability, motivation, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to efficiently complete tasks within established time frames.
  • Experience using power equipment and tools required for facilities operations.
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or walk for the duration of the work shift.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to interface clearly with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.

New York Base Salary Range

The expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between $60,000 – 80,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange’s incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual. Regular full-time ICE employees are eligible for a suite of competitive employee benefits, including healthcare coverage (medical, dental and vision), a 401(k) plan, life insurance, time off, and paid leave for qualifying circumstances.
