Job Purpose
The index analyst role is an entry level position that supports the ICE Data Indices business. Analysts assist senior colleagues in collecting, validating and analyzing market and analytic financial instrument and index data to support index product development and maintenance and to respond to client inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Research and validation of corporate actions impacting constituents of Fixed Income indices by consulting vendors and filings
- Daily index production support: verify daily index and security-level pricing and analytics data; research and determine the appropriate disposition of identified exceptions
- Monthly index rebalancing support: review and validate constituent additions and removals; find corroborating evidence to support rebalancing changes; respond to client rebalancing questions/challenges and work with the reference data operations team to resolve open issues
- Prepare report templates, with standard charts and data tables, for regular monthly and quarterly research publications
- Custom index setup and verification templates for senior analysts to review before launching the index
- Collect data and prepare analyses in support of ad-hoc client requests
Knowledge and Experience
- 1+ years experience in the financial and/or market data industry
- Basic knowledge of financial instruments and markets is a plus but not required provided the candidate demonstrates strong basic skills
- Good organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to work under stringent time constraints, multi-task and prioritize workload
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access), Python or any other scripting language
- Strong analytic skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
- Ability to work as a part of a team and independently
- Undergraduate degree required
New York Base Salary Range
The expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between $76,600 – 122,500 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange’s incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual.
