Job Purpose

The Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) seeks a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to work with cutting‑edge technology and solve complex challenges in the financial markets. In this hybrid role, you will ensure the reliability, accuracy, and performance of applications supporting a world‑class derivatives exchange. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product Management, Operations, and Production Support teams to deliver high‑quality, mission‑critical systems.

The ideal candidate is self‑driven, analytical, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment. This role requires exceptional problem‑solving skills, strong technical depth, and the ability to engage effectively across cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Review business, technical, and functional requirements to design comprehensive test strategies, scenarios, and test cases.
• Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test suites for new and existing application features.
• Analyze large datasets and build scripts to streamline validation processes.
• Validate pricing models and identify issues through in‑depth data and analytical reviews.
• Conduct functional, regression, system, and API testing (e.g., Postman or other open-source tools).
• Perform database testing, including metadata, data completeness, accuracy, and quality checks.
• Log, manage, and triage defects; communicate risks and drive timely resolution.
• Provide clear and timely quality status updates to support release‑readiness decisions.
• Troubleshoot software and hardware configuration issues; perform root cause analysis.
• Support multiple simultaneous projects and adhere to quality best practices across full development lifecycle.
• Execute and maintain automated test scripts to support continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) efforts.

Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience reviewing requirements, designing test plans, and testing distributed web-based applications.
• 3+ years of experience programming and testing in Java, including data‑driven testing methodologies.
• 1+ year of experience writing scripts in Python.
• Proficiency writing complex SQL queries against Oracle or similar databases.
• Experience with ALM or other test management tools.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools and framework maintenance.
• Strong understanding of Agile/SCRUM methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proven ability to work independently under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong decision‑making capabilities.
