Job Description

Overview

Job Purpose

Intercontinental Exchange Data Services (ICE Data Services) is seeking a Sales Specialist to join our Desktop Sales team in New York. This permanent role blends deep market expertise with technical fluency, designed for someone who understands how energy and commodity markets trade, knows the mechanics of options and brokering, and can build practical tools and workflows that amplify sales and client engagement.

The Sales Specialist will support and drive new revenue across a focused set of ICE desktop and data products — primarily ICE Connect, ICE Options Analytics (IOA), and ICE Chat— while contributing to cross-sell efforts with ICE Feeds and participating in special projects. This person will be a force multiplier: running targeted sales campaigns, supporting the sales team with market-relevant content, and engaging clients with genuine credibility. They will also liaise with the ICE Exchange teams and Fixed Income teams.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with how traders, risk managers, and brokers operate day-to-day, a working knowledge of options markets and brokering workflows, and the technical savvy to work with spreadsheets, AI tools, and lightweight custom-built solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Specialist will work with Sales Executives and Relationship Managers to help achieve the Americas new business sales number
  • Support new business development and client retention across IOA, ICE Chat, and ICE Connect products
  • New business demos and existing trainings for customers
  • Work with Relationship Managers to ensure they are adding value and revenue to sales and providing new ideas on their training (highlighting new ICE desktop functionality along with any new content)
  • Plan and execute targeted outreach campaigns in coordination with ICE Marketing
  • Work closely with the ICE Desktop Product team prior to new release
  • Identify and pursue cross-sell opportunities for ICE Feeds and related data products within existing accounts
  • Work closely with partner firms on customer feedback
  • Exceed sales and retention quota across the ICE Connect platform
  • Manage and develop strong client relationships;
  • Work closely with the product and business team to provide feedback on any client, prospect or partner requirements;
  • Provide structured feedback from client and prospect interactions to the product and business teams
  • Build and maintain spreadsheet-based models and client-facing materials that support the sales process

Knowledge and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in financial markets, market data, financial technology, or a related field with direct exposure to energy/commodity or derivatives markets
  • Genuine understanding of options pricing, volatility, hedging strategies, and brokering workflows in physical and financial commodities or equity derivatives
  • Hands-on proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets including modeling, data analysis, and client-ready tools
  • Comfort with AI tools and emerging productivity technologies applied to sales workflows
  • Strong consultative communication skills — able to engage traders, risk managers, and brokers as a credible peer
  • CRM proficiency, preferably Salesforce
  • Previous experience at a trading firm, energy company, brokerage, exchange, or market data/fintech vendor preferred
