Your Role

We’re seeking a Principal Engineer to join a ESG technology team which builds ESG data and Capabilities within Invesco. The ESG technology enables the strategic goals of Invesco and builds various capabilities to gain competitive advantage in the marketplace. In this position, you will work closely with Global ESG team and various other business teams to design, architect, develop, and deploy innovative capabilities in support of Invesco’s ESG goals. We expect that you possess an architect attitude and are proficient/hands on in cloud data and cloud native application capabilities buildout and integration. You will lead the architectural and technical solutions design decisions for the ESG platform and build (Hands-on) various ESG capabilities.

You will be responsible for:

  • A thought leader in large-scale distributed systems, microservices, web application, databases, AWS, and its related technologies.

  • Hands on builder, can execute and strive for efficiency without compromising quality; capable of diving in and getting hands on where needed to keep technical development on track.

  • A strong cross functional leader, working with ESG tech team to deliver ESG Data and Capabilities platform implementation

  • An effective communicator with a solution-oriented mindset.

  • Building ESG Data and Capabilities platform using Cloud native application and Cloud data architecture (Snowflake), AWS, python, microservices, React, serverless event driven architecture, AG-Grid and test automation technologies.

  • Build an end to end ESG portfolio analysis, ESG data and Analytics capabilities for Global ESG needs across Invesco

  • Automating data ingestion for 75+ ESG data sources, build ESG data integration with various data domains and create a robust data validation framework.

The experience you bring:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as developer with modern Tech stack

  • Front end Web application development using React/Javascript required

  • Production experience with a backend technology a major plus

  • Python / Java / Spring Framework exposure a major plus.

  • Experience with micro services and API development a plus

  • Production Experience in AWS cloud infrastructure and services, lambda, serverless architecture, Cloud Native application development and Snowflake

  • Understanding of Test Automation experience using Test driven development framework is a plus

  • Production experience with continuous integration (CI/CD), Bitbucket pipeline is a plus

  • Understanding of application architecture and relational database development

  • Ability to pivot to new technologies as they become available. Keep pace with a constantly changing environment.

  • Collaborate with users/stakeholders to translate business problems into technical requirements.

  • Experience working with an Agile team doing continuous delivery.
