Job Description
The Department
The Global Procurement team is responsible for global 3rd party spend across the spectrum of goods and services acquired by the company. This includes Information Technology, Marketing, Facilities Services, Professional Services and Financial Technology/Market Data.
Your Role
As the Head of Services Sourcing and Category Management, you will be responsible for leading and managing the sourcing and category strategies, ensuring the procurement team achieves optimal cost savings, quality, and efficiency in the procurement process. Invesco’s Services category includes Management Consulting, IT Services, Contingent Labor, Marketing, Human Resources, Travel and Legal Services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and deliver exceptional results.
You will be responsible for:
Develop and implement sourcing and category strategies aligned with Invesco’s strategy and objectives.
Maintain full sourcing pipeline for their category, proactively addressing cost impacts and pursuing mitigation and savings strategies.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Functions and Business Lines to understand their requirements and develop category strategies aligned to requirements, growth and cost profile.
Drive supplier relationship management initiatives, fostering strong partnerships and continuous improvement for key supplier relationships in the category.
Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, implementing corrective actions when necessary to ensure compliance with quality, delivery, and service level agreements.
Lead a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure high performance and achievement of targets.
Drive the key, material sourcing events in their category (RFx, Renewals, sole source negotiations) along with contract negotiations.
Support the category team to identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on their capabilities, quality, cost, and delivery performance.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in the sourcing and category landscape (i.e. Porters Five Forces, Gartner, Hackett, etc)
Challenge new, material supplier requests within the category, working with the business on the optimal solution.
Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and market trends to drive innovation and efficiency in the procurement process.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators for their category, providing regular updates to senior management on category performance and achievements.
The experience you bring:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and category management, preferably in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, and supplier management.
Excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are a plus.
