Job Description
Job Purpose (Job Summary): We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to join our team and lead our agile development processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Scrum methodologies, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of successfully guiding teams to deliver high-quality projects and programs efficiently. Projects range in subject matter from cyber security to physical security and others. These projects can potentially have members who are not fully dedicated and have other operating responsibilities. Strong quantitative, analytic and project management skills are required.
You will be responsible for:
Project manager on projects of various sizes. Exercises strong project management skills through project life cycle phases including analysis, business requirements definition, project communication, training, testing, and project deliverables documentation. Works closely with other support teams throughout project life cycle.
Effectively communicates project goals and objectives to internal and external parties.
Utilizes strong leadership skills and client relationship management skills to effectively lead cross-functional resources such as internal Security teams, business owners, Technology, Legal and Compliance to implement Security initiatives.
Work closely with system vendors and other third parties to develop appropriate solutions to any reported issues.
Assess current technology and future enhancements and proactively communicate to management opportunities to apply technology or processes that will improve the quality and/or quantity of the work being performed.
Develop cost-benefit analysis prior to pursuing initiatives.
Possess a working knowledge of project management methodologies of waterfall and agile.
Conflict Resolution: Proactively identify and address impediments and conflicts that may impact team productivity, fostering a culture of open communication and problem-solving.
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team and organization, leveraging Agile metrics and feedback loops to identify areas for optimization.
Coaching and Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to team members on Agile principles, practices, and techniques, empowering them to take ownership of their work and deliver value effectively.
Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate risks to project delivery, collaborating with stakeholders to develop contingency plans and maintain project momentum.
Metrics and Reporting: Track and analyze team performance metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders on progress, velocity, and other relevant KPIs.
Knowledge Sharing: Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across teams, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
The experience you bring:
5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Scrum Master or Agile Coach in a technology or security environment
Proven track record of driving continuous improvement and delivering high-quality products on schedule.
Experience working with distributed teams and remote collaboration tools.
Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Project) and Microsoft Office suite.
Experience working in a global security organization as plus
Must be able to facilitate meetings. This includes scheduling, agendas, minutes, creation/use of visual aids and ability to keep participants focused on the purpose of the meeting both in person and virtually.
Good organizational skills are required to effectively maintain multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
Must be a problem solver. The successful Project Manager will use experience and knowledge to identify obstacles and propose solutions.
Strong leadership and facilitation skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
Strong ability to directly and indirectly influence stakeholders to embrace security projects and initiatives.
Willing to keep up to date and build upon skill and knowledge base, as well as mentor others.
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or equivalent training, education, or equivalent military experience required.
Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent certification required; additional Agile certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Professional, SAFe Agilist) preferred.
