About Us
The distressed credit & special situations team within Invesco focuses on opportunistic stressed and distressed investments as well as special situations control opportunities across the United States and Europe. The team has been together since 2016 and maintains a private equity style approach to sourcing, diligence and execution of investments. We manage approximately $2.5 billion in assets and are currently investing out of our second special situations fund as well as an opportunistic private credit vehicle. Description
Associates are responsible for analyzing and executing new investment opportunities as well as assisting with portfolio monitoring. Associates are expected to have strong communication (verbal and written) skills, excellent modeling abilities, and be comfortable reading and understanding financial and legal documentation. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and have a passion for investing and learning about different business models. The team is looking for someone with sound judgment and strong technical skills who is driven, humble, a self-starter and a good team player.
Note that while this is a two-year program, there is a track record of promotion for strong performers.
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
• Perform financial modeling and analysis
• Conduct company and industry research
• Assist with investment execution, including the creation of investment committee materials
• Preparation of presentations and other written materials (including fundraising)
• Ability to present analysis and findings to team / investment committee
• Monitoring of markets and current industry trends
• Post-investment monitoring of portfolio investments
• Interact with management teams, advisors, and other constituents
Work Experience / Knowledge:
• Prior experience as an investment banking analyst with at least one full year of experience in a restructuring, leveraged finance, M&A, or relevant industry group
• Prior experience at a credit focused buy-side firm (e.g., hedge fund, direct lending, BDC, etc.) is a plus
The salary range for this position in New York is $120,000 - $125,000 annually. The total compensation offered for this position includes salary and incentive pay and will vary based on skills, experience, and location.
