Job Description

About the Role:

The Product specialist team works closely with the Asia Equity Investment team and is the interface for the investment team within the organization. It is an excellent stepping-stone into the asset management industry.

The team assists portfolio managers and client portfolio managers (CPMs) in promoting strategies and servicing our sales/distributions globally. It will also be involved in new product development.

The specialists will be trained to have in-depth knowledge of the Asia equity markets and the team’s strategies.

Key deliveries include providing portfolio analytics and its interpretation, developing communication collaterals (such as market outlook, views on specific events, commentaries), and addressing clients’ queries of different nature. In addition, product specialists will assist in the pitching process and work closely with the RFP team to finalize RFPs.

A product specialist will gain a strong understanding of the asset management industry through its broad interaction with different departments (ESG, consultant, marketing/PR, legal & compliance).

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Assist in the handling of client inquiries and requests. The team provides exemplary client servicing internally to our global sales network and external clients.

  • Responsible for updating and keeping track of investment products related data. Regular update of portfolio analytics and product collaterals and performances.

  • Work with the CPMs, CIOs, portfolio managers, marketing and client relations colleagues to produce high-quality presentation documents (updating content, charts/graphs etc.) to present to clients, consultants and prospects.

  • Assist in generating compelling content across various topics and for different audiences, related to investment strategies, market outlooks, commentaries, and firm capabilities.

  • Prepare new business tenders, proposals and effective marketing documents.

  • Write monthly and quarterly client letters and fund reports. These generally include discussing the Asian team's investment strategy, portfolio performance, performance attribution and portfolio change.

  • Become familiar with the team's investment philosophy and approach and client portfolios and be able to run and interpret reports on performance attribution and portfolio characteristics.

  • Have a good understanding and keep updated on the Marco market environment and dynamics.

  • Participate in the development of new products, and engage in projects and special initiatives as directed

  • The position does not require the achievement of specific sales targets.

Requirement for the Role:

  • An undergraduate degree in accounting, economics, business, international studies, or a relevant field.

  • Strong English and Chinese writing and communication skills a must.

  • 3 to 5 years’ working experience, preferably with professional training or experience in related industry.

  • Have strong interests to work in the Asset Management Industry

  • Very detail minded with strong analytical skills.

  • Attention to detail with the ability to work with numbers and conduct analytical work

  • Knowledge in Equities and Equities Market would be an advantage

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft office including Words, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • A team player with high ethical standard

  • A self-starter who takes initiatives.
