As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Prime Brokerage Cash Equities team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
We are seeking a talented Associate to join our technology team focused on US Listed Options. The ideal candidate will have experience in software engineering, a strong background in securities processing and financial services, and preferably experience in US Listed Options. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the modernization of legacy platforms, work with cutting-edge technologies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
Job responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy applications and systems for US Listed Options platforms using modern technologies.
- Support the migration and modernization of legacy systems, including adoption of cloud-native architectures, event-driven technologies (Java, Spring, AWS, Kafka, Python, SQL/NoSQL, Apache Spark, containerization), and AI-based solutions.
- Contribute to the integration and development of AI technologies to enhance platform capabilities, accelerate project delivery, and support business objectives.
- Apply domain knowledge in US Listed Options clearance, securities processing, or financial services to ensure technology solutions meet business and operational requirements.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, operations, and vendor partners to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Collaborate with and support other engineers, contributing to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Participate in the end-to-end delivery of technology solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
- Provide ongoing support for deployed applications, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues to ensure system stability and performance.
- Ensure all platforms and solutions adhere to regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Hands on experience in software development in securities processing and financial services
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s) Java and Python and Spring Framework
- Experience with AI-based development, including integrating solutions into enterprise platforms
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, MQ
- Practical cloud native experience such as AWS
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and microservices
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience in US Listed Options
