DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, analyze, develop, code, test and debug applications and business services to meet business requirements for projects. Design applications using Cloud architecture. Manage orchestration and containerization for deployments and scaling the applications. Set up and manage Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipeline for applications. Integrate application layers with databases using ORM frameworks. Build interfaces/APIs and enhance integration capabilities between front-end and back- end systems. Design screens using UI tools and frameworks. Participate in cross-functional development and integration projects requiring interaction with end-users and external technology clients. Assist the team in supporting applications in QA and production environments by resolving defects. Keep abreast of developments in Java, Cloud, and open-source technologies. Share knowledge with the team and propose adoption of new technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years (60 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Vice President - Senior Software Engineer, Senior Consultant, Senior Software Engineer/ Consultant - Technology, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 7 years (84 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Vice President - Senior Software Engineer, Senior Consultant, Senior Software Engineer/ Consultant - Technology, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following: applying Agile and Waterfall SDLC methodologies to plan, execute, and document software projects; deploying and managing Java applications; implementing testing frameworks including JUnit, Cucumber, and Mockito for automated testing; architecting scalable and maintainable systems using application architecture principles and microservices; building real-time data pipelines with Apache Kafka and implementing distributed systems with Zookeeper; developing server-side applications using Node.js, and Spring. This position requires four (4) years of experience with the following: automating CI/CD processes with Jenkins. This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: creating responsive web interfaces using web development technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and frameworks including Angular. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: deploying and managing applications on Apache Tomcat and WebSphere, ensuring high availability; implementing testing frameworks including JUnit, Cucumber, and Mockito for manual testing; creating responsive web interfaces using web development frameworks including Bootstrap; designing and managing software solutions on Linux and Windows, leveraging Shell Scripting for automation to enhance performance and compatibility; developing and deploying containerized applications using Docker; developing interactive web applications using TypeScript and jQuery to enhance user experiences; designing, analyzing, developing, coding, unit testing, and debugging Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot framework based applications, including SOA-based business services using REST and SOAP web services; integrating application layers with databases, such as Oracle, using ORM frameworks with at least one of the following: Hibernate or iBATIS; utilizing web services and Java technologies to build interfaces/APIs, enhancing integration capabilities between front-end and back-end systems; managing project dependencies and builds using Maven, Gradle, and Apache Ant; designing and manipulating data structures using JSON and XML; profiling and optimizing Java applications using JProfiler to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks; managing databases using technologies including SQL, and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra and tools including Apache Spark for data processing; using version control systems including Git for source code management and collaboration; conducting various testing methodologies, including automated, functional, manual, performance, and user acceptance testing, to ensure software quality; deploying applications on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) and designing integration solutions using Mule for seamless connectivity; designing and documenting software systems using Unified Modeling Language (UML) for clear communication of system architecture and design; designing and implementing messaging solutions using Java Message Service (JMS) for reliable communication between distributed systems.
