As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Digital Channels team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm’s state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
In this role you will ensure the quality, security, and accessibility of our cloud-native financial platforms, with a focus on client onboarding and regulatory compliance. You will design, implement, and maintain comprehensive automated testing solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, secure, and user-friendly applications.
Job responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for microservices and web applications
- Implement and execute performance, load, and stress tests using automation tools to ensure system scalability and reliability.
- Test database interactions, data integrity in PostgreSQL or any relational database.
- Monitor, analyze, and validate application logs and metrics using Splunk to identify issues and verify test outcomes.
- Utilize defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, Quality Center) to track, report, and manage bugs throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain test data management strategies to support complex onboarding scenarios and regulatory requirements.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Experience in software quality testing of cloud-native applications
- Hands-on experience with JMeter, Bruno, and other automation and performance testing tools.
- Proficiency in API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured, SoapUI).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests (Spinnaker, Jenkins, GitLab).
- Experience with defect management tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Ability to analyze logs and monitor applications using Splunk.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL).
- Experience with test data management and data validation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into effective test cases and automation scripts.
