The Finance Data & Insights Team is an agile product team responsible for the development, production, and transformation of financial data and reporting across Consumer & Community Banking (CCB). As a Product Director, you will assume a critical and influential role in shaping, defining, and executing the strategic vision and roadmap related to our Finance initiatives supporting Business Banking in partnership with other areas across Banking and Wealth Management. In this capacity, you will work collaboratively and synergistically with a diverse array of cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Chief Financial Officers (CFOs), Controllers, Business Units, P&A, FDI – Data and BI Leads, Data & Analytics (D&A), and Design departments. Your efforts will be directed primarily towards understanding the finance data and insights needs required by BB Finance and adoption of the data products and business intelligent (BI) solutions. In this role, you will sit on the BB CFO leadership team, directly lead a team of approximately 3-4 people, plus coordinate across CCB key partnerships with Wealth Management investments, Consumer Bank deposits and Business Card products as we continue to expand the measurement and growth insights for the franchise value of Business Banking.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the product roadmap, vision, development, execution, risk management, and business growth targets
  • Leads the entire product life cycle through planning, execution, and future development by continuously adapting, developing new products and methodologies, managing risks, and achieving business targets like cost, features, reusability, and reliability to support growth
  • Coaches and mentors the product team on best practices, such as solution generation, market research, storyboarding, mind-mapping, prototyping methods, product adoption strategies, and product delivery, enabling them to effectively deliver on objectives
  • Owns product performance and is accountable for investing in enhancements to achieve business objectives
  • Monitors market trends, conducts competitive analysis, and identifies opportunities for product differentiation
  • Engage with CFO, senior leaders, and key stakeholders to understand business needs and to develop a comprehensive product roadmap. Set clear objectives and confirm business value for each objective to define priorities and success measures. Provide critical advice in determining the best approach on how to meet strategic objectives leveraging a deep understanding of the financial data and supporting technology
  • Lead the team in requirements gathering for Business Banking FDI initiatives and ensuring that solutions meet the business needs. Collaborate with FDI Product leads to build end to end solutions that support those needs with a focus on customer account and profitability analysis
  • Assess historical Business Bank Finance data flows in support of month-end close processes (P&A and Controllers) to develop new data product solutions to leverage existing infrastructure and provide a modernized technical solution. Goals include reducing the Essbase footprint for Business Banking leveraging CARI as a single source of truth for customer profitability
  • Perform specialized ad hoc analysis to inform evolving business strategies
  • Prioritize development activities to maximize value delivery and lead data-driven analyses to support business objectives. Foster creativity and ingenuity to transform data interpretation and understanding
  • Motivate and coach a highly skilled cross-functional team to ensure optimal performance. Coordinate/lead activities across the FDI teams in support of measuring the current and potential value of the Business Banking Franchise. Matrix support will come from numerous groups and involve coordination of 7-10 people on any given effort

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • 8+ years of experience or equivalent expertise delivering products, projects, or technology applications
  • Extensive knowledge of the product development life cycle, technical design, and data analytics
  • Proven ability to influence the adoption of key product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
  • Experience driving change within organizations and managing stakeholders across multiple functions
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or other quantitative or financial subject areas
  • Experience working with data analytics projects related to the financial services domain
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to deliver value added support to business partners in a dependable, timely and accurate manner
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of management, cross-functional teams and influence business partners
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and envision new data flows and support models marrying data and process improvements
  • Experience with relational databases, optimizing SQL to pull and summarize large datasets, report creation, ad-hoc analyses and delivering end to end solutions through the product development lifecycle

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • Recognized thought leader within a related field
  • Knowledge of Business Banking business
  • Experience with AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, or other Cloud Data Warehouse platforms
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or other big-data query tools.
  • Experience with Oracle Essbase is a plus.
  • Experience with ThoughtSpot or similar AI tools that empower stakeholders to self-serve and generate their own insights.
