Risk Management - Credit Risk - Asset-Backed Finance - Analyst
J.P. Morgan
Job Description
Join J.P. Morgan Chase Risk Management and Compliance team, where you will help keep our firm strong and resilient. Bring your expertise and help the firm grow its business in a responsible way by anticipating new and emerging risks and using your judgement to solve real-world challenges that impact our company, customers and communities. Our culture in Risk Management and Compliance is all about thinking outside the box, challenging the status quo and striving to be best-in-class.
By joining the Asset-Backed Finance Credit Risk team, you will be launching your career at the intersection of finance, analytics, and innovation. As an Analyst, you will play a key role in assessing the risks and providing structural recommendations of structures of securitizations of financial assets – where repayment is driven by the cash flows generated from these assets.
You will be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking group that values creative problem-solving, challenges the status quo, and strives to be best-in-class. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience, work closely with senior credit officers, and make a real impact from day one.

- Develop foundational knowledge of securitized financial assets
- Participate in due diligence meetings, which may be virtual or at the client’s office
- Monitor all aspects of the assigned credit portfolio, including industry trends, portfolio performance, compliance with covenants, potential risks and opportunities
- Validate cash-flow and waterfall models to confirm loss coverage, liquidity, weighted average life, and trigger headroom; challenge model assumptions
- Ensure internal risk grades remain accurate
- Work closely with credit risk officers, coverage bankers and product partners to develop structures appropriate for the risk profile of the assets to be financed
- Support the assessment of stress or downside credit scenarios
- Ensure accurate booking of exposures in J.P. Morgan credit systems; coordinate with middle office to maintain data integrity
- Prepare written credit analysis and recommendations for senior credit officers
- Prepare and present period portfolio reviews to senior credit executives and business partners
