DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Collaborate with business stakeholders to define UX user research goals, translating them into specific research questions and developing comprehensive research plans. Recommend and implement a mix of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to achieve business objectives. Calculate appropriate sample sizes for statistical analysis and design both moderated and unmoderated user research studies. Utilize user research tools for coding studies, including study logic, workflow, and piping. Develop recruiting screeners in collaboration with stakeholders and coordinate with recruiting vendors and internal sources to secure necessary participants. Oversee all aspects of study distribution, ensuring the availability of required stimuli for participants. Conduct qualitative research, including contextual inquiries, interviews, and usability testing following best practices. Perform statistical analysis of research results and create detailed presentations and deliverables that highlight findings, insights, and design recommendations. Collaborate with UI designers and developers to ensure the accurate implementation of research insights and design recommendations. Maintain an internal intranet 'research hub' to document user research best practices and research tool documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Experience Research, User Experience Architect/Design Engineer/Designer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Experience Research, User Experience Architect/Design Engineer/Designer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following: Conducting quantitative and qualitative user research, including moderated and unmoderated usability testing; Conducting moderated and unmoderated information architecture testing using card sorts and tree tests; Designing surveys involving logic, branching, and workflows; Conducting moderated interviews and contextual inquiries. This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: Conducting usability testing, contextual inquiries, surveys, card sorts, tree tests, A/B testing, click testing, and interviews using research tools including UserTesting, UserZoom, Optimal Workshop, Qualtrics, and Survey Monkey; Analyzing research results using statistical confidence and correlation, affinity diagramming, thematic analysis, information architecture analysis including creation of dendrograms, and MaxDiff and Kano analysis. This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following: Conducting user research within a multinational, multi-product financial services firm.

Full-Time. Salary: $199,400 - $200,000 per year.
