DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or breakdown technical problems. Develop secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others. Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems. Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture. Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies. Provide guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities. Manage stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or related field of study plus seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Staff Engineer, Java Developer, Technology Architect, Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Staff Engineer, Java Developer, Technology Architect, Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following: Designing and developing interactive web applications using front-end UI development using frameworks like Angular or ReactJS, and back-end development with Java; Performing programming tasks using Java version 11 or later; Designing and developing microservices and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot, with Spring ecosystem components like Spring Data, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud; Designing and implementing, RESTful web services, microservices architecture, HTTP methods, status codes, and API design. This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: Deploying and managing applications on AWS or Cloud Foundry platforms, cloud services and infrastructure management; Utilizing advanced techniques for container orchestration using Kubernetes, including deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications; Designing and implementing messaging systems like Kafka, AWS SQS, AWS SNS, and AWS Managed Kafka Service, message queues, topics, and event-driven architectures; Designing and developing applications using AWS services such as EC2, EKS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, RDS Aurora MySQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, and Kinesis, with cloud-native application design and deployment; Designing and implementing business process management solutions using Camunda BPM or IBM BPM. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: Agile methodologies, including Scrum for iterative development, CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and DevOps practices for continuous integration and delivery.
