DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Tech Lead, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Tech Lead, IT Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following: developing software utilizing the Spring framework; developing software using Java, WebSphere Message Broker (WMB), WebSphere MQ (WMQ), and the Spring framework. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: Developing software applications with Java; Utilizing Apache Tomcat, ESQL, APIGEE, and APIC for both front-end and back-end development; Using development methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC); applying application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines; and working with microservices architecture; Working with WMQ, IBM Integration Bus (IIB), SAP Business Connector (SAPBC), SAP Process Integration (SAP PI), Java, Spring, XML, and Splunk; Utilizing relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle and DB2, and SQL for data manipulation; Working with various servers including IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Apache Tomcat, and Unix servers (AIX, HP-Unix, Linux); Using development tools such as Eclipse, GIT, SOAP UI, JMeter, Appwatch, Buganizer, PVCS, and PL/SQL; Developing API proxies with traffic management and security policies, managing API layers with security, custom analytics, throttling, and caching using an API management platform, and performing analysis on APIs, products, and apps for high-volume traffic; Utilizing Basic Auth, OAuth, Mutual TLS, and ClientID validations; Developing domain-specific transformation and routing rules using IIB and WMQ, integrating web services in Java for both SOAP and REST services, for performance improvements; and Developing logging and exception handling frameworks for common usage and implementing security frameworks such as SAML, WS-Security, and OAuth.
