DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Drive the design, development, and implementation of software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Leads project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions. Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision- making in service of secure, stable application development. Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Applications, Applied Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years (60 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Architect, Software Development Engineer, Software Consultant, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Applications, Applied Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 7 years (84 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Architect, Software Development Engineer, Software Consultant, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires five (5) years of experience with the following: resolving design and functionality problems independently; all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle including requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance; core Java and J2EE server side development based on Java technologies including core Java, Spring and application containers; software design principles and patterns including core Java design patterns; Java/J2EE Enterprise Web Development; developing in all tiers of the application including middleware, integration and database; developing software using Java and J2EE; REST APIs; Web Services; Spring Framework. This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: working in an Agile environment employing software delivery practices including CI/CD, Scrum, Application Resiliency, and Security (Identity and Access Management); ServiceNow; JIRA; Maven; test automation tools or frameworks such as BDD or BlazeMeter; developing software using Spring, Spring Boot and Maven to resolve application dependency; building applications that utilize JSON and XML formatted data; object-oriented methodology of design and development; SQL Database such as Oracle or DB2; RDBMS Concepts, Normalization and Table Design, Queries, Stored Procedures, functions; Application Monitoring tool Splunk; Web and Application Servers such as Apache, or Tomcat; data governance and data modeling in Java; JS frameworks/libraries such as JQuery, JavaScript, HTML, or CSS; writing shell scripting Unix, batch and deploy on Linux, Unix or Windows; writing programs using XML technologies such as DTD, XML Schema, XML Parsers, XML Binding, XSL, XPath, or XQuery; building applications using IDE such as Intellij or Eclipse; implementing solutions using software architectures including modular monoliths and micro- services on Cloud. This position requires two (2) years of experience with the following: Bitbucket; Jenkins. This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following: design patterns including Core Java, J2EE, and hybrid clouds with Docker or Kubernetes; guiding automated testing approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives covering modern design patterns, Microservices and techniques leveraging AWS Cloud Services; migrating complex applications to the public cloud; developing software using micro service environment that deploy as a REST API on AWS Cloud Environment; developing AWS Services in public cloud infrastructure S3; Java 8+ using object oriented programming and functional programming including Java or Python; AWS Cloud Monitoring tools such as Datadog, Cloud watch, or Lambda. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: XP principles Test-Driven Developments including Junit5, Mockito, and Power Mockito; Spring Batch framework; using infrastructure-as- code services, Python or frameworks in Apache Spark or Hadoop technologies.

Full-Time. Salary: $174,900 - $ 215,000 per year.
