DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Responsible for developing best-in-class risk strategies and assessing existing strategies for improvements, recommending changes to those strategies based on risk and financial performance. Drive Acquisitions Risk strategies including eligibility rules, strategy segmentations, and line optimization. Ensure that Acquisition strategies drive strong financial performance while maintaining strong risk controls. Regularly meet with leaders and team members across multiple lines of business to deliver recommendations, receive feedback, and drive the business forward. Engage in cross-functional partnership to ensure strategies are implemented as intended and that client-facing functions are aware of strategy changes. Develop and apply mathematical or statistical techniques to collect, organize and interpret data from multiple sources in support of strategic analytics for acquisitions risk and other adhoc purposes. Use advanced analytical techniques to build strategy segmentation including clustering and decision trees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Applied Data Science, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Business, or related field of study plus 3 years (36 months) of experience in the job offered or as Strategic Analytics, Portfolio Risk Management Strategist, Data Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Applied Data Science, Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Business, or related field of study plus 5 years (60 months) of experience in the job offered or as Strategic Analytics, Portfolio Risk Management Strategist, Data Analyst, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: risk management and analytics in the Credit Card industry; utilizing SAS for data retrieval, manipulation, and analysis; utilizing SAS data steps, SQL programming, and statistical procedures including descriptive statistics, correlation statistics, regression analysis, and time series analysis to identify trends/patterns, identify performance segments, develop MIS reporting, and support development of new strategies and products; leveraging large datasets of up to 1+ billion records for pattern exploration to develop risk segments and provide business insights and recommendations; utilizing macros for automation and iteration of SAS code for efficient execution; using Tableau for data manipulation, visualization, and dashboarding to create custom analytical views; owning executive-level and senior-level management inquiries related to credit portfolio trends and performance, and breaking them down into actionable components to shape analysis, offer clear risk insights, and provide business recommendations; collaborating with cross-functional partners to influence project roadmaps and business decisions; building custom presentations using Tableau and MS office tools that synthesize complex data analytics and findings into clear insights to a wide range of audiences and senior leadership.
