DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Build, host, and bootup services end-to-end on AWS. Define and manage supporting infrastructure. Own design and implementation of new services across environments. Lead release coordination with SRE and cross-functional teams. Develop and maintain production dashboards. Build alerting and observability tools. Work across multiple teams, including product, design, and platform. Write and execute custom scripts for complex data corrections across environments, and proactively spot and troubleshoot issues. Design services to handle high-scale traffic and ensure horizontal scalability. Build internal tooling to support developer workflows and deployment processes. Stay abreast of platform-wide tech trends and decisions. Contribute to architectural discussions. Design routing paths from the internet to internal apps. Configure external WAF and manage secure internet-facing APIs. Develop technical solutions to problems and write technical documentation that serves as guidance for cross-functional teams solving similar issues. Mentor new hires and junior engineers; lead code/design reviews and push for best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Research Engineer, Research Assistant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Research Engineer, Research Assistant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Developing applications on cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using Java, Scala, and Python; Designing, containerizing, and orchestrating microservices using Docker and Kubernetes to ensure scalable and reliable application deployment; Creating and managing data-driven features using relational and non-relational databases including SQL and PostgreSQL; Building scalable, high- performing backend applications and RESTful APIs using modern programming languages including Java and Scala; Performing distributed data processing and batch pipeline creation using Apache Spark; Developing data visualizations and dashboards using tools such as Tableau and Plotly for real-time and historical data insights; Building and maintaining web applications using Git-based version control systems for effective collaboration and source code management; Automating build, test, and deployment processes within continuous integration and deployment environments using tools such as GitHub; Writing scripts for automation and task scheduling using scripting languages including Python, Perl, and Unix shell scripting.

Full-Time. Salary: $162,200 - $185,000 per year.
